Steeped in the classic traditions of such jazz-masters as Coleman Hawkins and Lester Young, Robert Fowler is widely acknowledged as one of the UK’s finest tenor saxophonists. Starting his professional career in 1986 with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Robert has gone on to play with a wide variety of leading jazz musicians as well as touring with rock singer Brian Ferry. Colin Oxley (g), Robin Aspland (p), Marianne Windham (b) and Matt Skelton (d) complete the quintet, who will be celebrating the music of the legendary songwriters Rodgers and Hart., responsible for such iconic standards as ‘My Funny Valentine’ and ‘Where or When’.

Long time associate of the Humphrey Lyttleton Band, Robert Fowler's swinging, exhilerating tenor sax playing is very much in the style of Scott Hamilton, Zoot Sims and Al Cohn.
