For this first performance of the Guildford Jazz New Year programme, we are delighted to welcome pianist Leon Greening, an exciting and hugely popular performer at jazz clubs around the UK. With his hard swinging style, inspired by the likes of Bud Powell, Wynton Kelly and Bobby Timmons, Leon epitomises the very best on the UK Jazz scene today. Joining Leon will be the UK’s premier jazz drummer Steve Brown, and Guildford Jazz anchor Marianne Windham on bass.
Leon Greening Trio
A graduate of Leeds College of Music and The Guildhall, Leon Greening is a fluent and melodic jazz pianist who is in the vanguard of the British jazz scene. With Michael Janisch (double bass) and Steve Brown (drums).
