Superheaven
Doylestown, Pennsylvania quartet Superheaven (formerly called Daylight) formed in 2007, a quartet who would model their heavy songs after '90s grunge, '80s D.I.Y. punk, and a smattering of early emo/post-hardcore bands like Quicksand. From its beginnings, the band consisted of guitarist/vocalists Taylor Madison and Jake Clarke, bassist Joe Kane, and drummer John Bowes. The band's recorded output consisted mostly of EPs in their early years, with a demo issued in 2008, followed by the Sinking EP in 2009. Also in 2009, Daylight toured regionally and managed to do a stint of shows in Australia as well. Amid constant touring both in the States and Europe, Daylight issued a string of further EPs including Dispirit (2010) and The Difference in Good and Bad Dreams (2012). Bowes was replaced by new drummer Zack Robbins in 2012. Their first proper full-length, Jar, arrived in 2013, sounding like the heavier side of grunge acts like Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, and early Smashing Pumpkins, complete with angsty breakdowns and creepy vocal harmonies. Their second album, Ours Is Chrome, soon arrived in 2015. Following the releasec of their second album, Ours Is Chrome, the band went into a hiatus, where apart from one-off shows, they didn't perform for nearly seven years. They reformed in 2022, playing Manchester's Outbreak Fest and haven't stopped touring since. Enjoying their time as a band again, they started released music in 2024 with an LP released in 2025.
