Martha May & The Mondays

Martha May & The Mondays began as the solo folk project of performer and songwriter Martha McKay. After a flying start with gigs at acclaimed venues such as OVO Hydro, King Tuts, Saint Lukes, the project grew in numbers, becoming Martha May & The Mondays. The band has grown into a 7-piece, with eclectic instrumentation. After a number of rehearsals and jam sessions, the band discussed a genre shift that pleased everyone, alas, The Mondays evolution from folk rock to punk was born! The blend of saxophone, violin, electric guitar, distorted bass, drums, synth and gnarly vocals create a unique take on post punk.
