Billy Bragg
Described by The Times as a 'National Treasure', Billy Bragg's brand of socially and politically aware punk-folk has made a remarkable dent in the British conscience and made his name as one of Britain's most popular and out-spoken singer/songwriters. Drawing on the folk tradition of protest song, and the punk sensibilities of direct action, Billy Bragg has made a name for himself as an accomplished and inspirational musician, and as a charged and pro-active activist. At their best, Billy’s songs present ‘the perfect Venn diagram between the political and the personal’ (the Guardian)

The Halfway Kid
As The Halfway Kid, British-Sudanese singer and songwriter Saeed Gadir makes music for communing, and finds himself in the midst of a new folk tradition - one that he’s writing in real time. Having experimented with rapping over dubbed out, electronic-heavy R&B, Saeed picked up a guitar in his early 20s and figured out his own way around its six strings. He takes influcnes from artists such as Bob Dylan, Nina Simone and Joni Mitchell, and his writing is peppered with the stoic, blackened humour of Sudan.

PET NEEDS
PET NEEDS play fractured party music. The band was born when guitarist George landed on his brother Johnny’s sofa in Colchester after abandoning a job in a Midlands petrol station for the dazzling lights of Essex. They didn’t have a plan. But they had guitars. With explosive live performances of singalong anti-anthems, PET NEEDS began smashing sets on stages throughout the UK, screaming stories of disastrous job interviews, self-destruction and heading down the river on an inflatable kayak.
