The Gathering Sounds brings over 50 all-new acts across 7 stages to Stockton-on-Tees for one massive day of live music!
The festival has become a premier event for new and emerging artists in the North-East with previous acts such as The K's, The Lottery Winners, Sports Team, Red Rum Club, Sophie and the Giants and The Royston Club!

The event is a multi-venue event with 7 stages spread across 6 venues. ARC Stockton Arts Centre (holds ARC main stage and ARC2 stage), The Georgian Theatre, KU Stockton, The Social Room, The Link and The Green Room. One ticket grants access to all venues for the entire day.

Somebody's Child
Cian Godfrey, AKA Somebody's Child, started his musical journey at the age of 5, playing the piano at his family's apartment in Paris. Upon moving back to Ireland he started writing songs to tell his own stories, often reflecting upon mental health issues and his experiences of growing up in Dublin. A groundbreaking voice in the Dublin music scene, Somebody's Child has fast become one of the hottest prospects in Ireland having accumulated millions of streams and significant support.

KEO
Keo are a 4 piece alternative rock band formed by the Keogh Brothers. The brothers; Finn Keogh and Conor Keogh moved from Devon to London to find like-minded musicians to create and break their sound. In London they met Oli Spackman and Jimmy Lawern and from there honed their post-grunge sound. Keo’s music is Jeff Buckley and Radiohead influenced rock, with an edge inspired by the 90s and bands like The Smashing Pumpkins. More contemporary influences of theirs include Wunderhorse and Fontaines DC.

The Covasettes
The Covasettes are an Indie rock quartet formed in the heart of Manchester’s student town Fallowfield. They instinctively found their sound with the ‘Higher’ demo, which provides a striking combination of immense riffs and immersive melodies. Led by frontman Chris Buxton, who effortlessly produces heart wrenching yet infectious lyrics which allows them to instantly stand out from the crowd. This combined with the input of lead guitarist Matt Hewlett’s world-ending riffs, make The Covasettes a band you can count on to continuously deliver floor filling anthems. With prowess both on and off stage this is a band you don’t want to take your eyes off.

Brògeal
Hailing from the windswept Highlands of Scotland in Falkirk, five-piece Brògeal came together in high school over their love of Scottish and Irish folk music and punk and garage rock. Adding banjo to mandolin to electric guitars to the mix, the band soon found their own unique voice which has seen them emerge as one of the best live bands in the UK and one of the biggest breakout groups in the last 12 months.

Grandmas House
Bristol-based, queer punk-trio, made up of Yasmin Berndt (vocals, guitar), Poppy Dodgson (vocals, drums) and Zoë Zinsmeister (bass), are known for their fast and raucous guitar riffs, thumping bass lines and aggressive drums. Combining their love of post-punk with surfy melodies, Grandmas House have created a captivating sound that grabs you right by the throat. With vocals compared to artists ranging from The Raincoats to Motörhead and described musically as a mix between Courtney Barnett and The Slits, the original, fresh sound coming from this band is undeniable.

Labyrinthine Oceans
Labyrinthine Oceans are a Newcastle based female fronted experimental alt rock band who formed in early 2022. They create dreamscapes of guitar based noise, featuring soaring guitar solos and sultry but slightly gritty vocals; paired with ethereal visuals and captivating imagery. Inspired by 90s alt, grunge, psychedelia, shoegaze and good old rock and roll, they create something that is not necessarily identifiable but very much exciting.

Better Joy
Better Joy, the alternative-pop band led by Bria Keely, is a deft fusion of classic and contemporary influences, boldly celebrating the tensions between opposing states. Influenced by an array of artists including The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Smiths, The Sundays and contemporary artists such as Faxerdaze, The Japanese House, Phoebe Bridgers and The Beaches, Bria revels in exploring the bittersweet beauty of love, through romance, friendships and by examining her relationship with herself.

Dirty Blonde
Dirty Blonde are a fierce female alternative duo comprising members Ailis Mackay (vocals, guitar) and Hayley Tait (guitar, backing vocals). Hailing from the North West of England the duo have quickly gathered pace as one of the most exciting new acts right now and were praised as ‘one of the most exciting acts to come though Radio 1’s Future Alternative'. Adept at delivering storytelling arena ready anthems, Dirty Blonde live shows are a must see. The girls have the ability to address each crowd uniquely whilst playing tightly honed songs with heavy riffs leaving everyone wanting more. It’s clear to see why they are growing such a dedicated fanbase in such a short space of time, shaping 2025 up to be a busy year ahead.
