Apart of the Women in Comedy Festival
Lulu Simons reckons poverty tourism starts at home. Having spent her summers with an itchy bum after sandy donkey rides on British beaches, Lulu is canvassing posh people to think twice about where to spend their gap years (yahs)! Advising them to go ‘find themselves’ in New Brighton, Blackpool and of course, Rhyl. Comedian, actor and proud Welsh Woman, Lulu Simons brings her cutting wit and wagging charm to Council Estate Gap Year (WIP); a love letter to her working class upbringing.
Lulu is back, following her Women In Comedy sell-out debut last year with the show that put her poster on her mum's fridge door. Canal Street News were kind enough to review the show as "the makings of something really incredible [...] Lulu reminded us of Victoria Wood in her observational comedy and great comic timing."
So, buy a ticket, pack your bucket and spade and your privilege at the door! Audience's last year said: "This show was absolute dynamite.
Well constructed, beautifully delivered and full of heart"; "Hilarious. Clever and honest"; "Fun and nostalgic and cheeky"; "Completely brilliant"; "Such an engaging performer"; "Brilliant concept, hilariously performed!".
