The etheral wailings of Robert Smith set amongst layer upon layer of dark, melancholic guitars, edgey atmospherics and occasional pop wanderings all make up the unmistakable ingredients of The Cure. Whether they're wandering down Fascination Street or in love on a Friday, The Cure remain unmissable.

Glasgow's critically acclaimed post-rock band, led by Stuart Braithwaite. Loved by the late John Peel, Mogwai put an emphasis on epic big scale music with an orchestral feel. Rich and luscious in its atmosphere and texture, here's a group that really will take you on a trip to somewhere else. Who needs vocals when instrumentals can be this powerful?

Late 80s/early 90s Shoegaze outfit Slowdive were darlings of the NME and were signed to the legendary Creation label, back in the days when Indie really was Indie! Releasing three albums and a string of EPs between '91-'95, they were more productive in that short period than My Bloody Valentine have been in their entire career! After a gap of 19 years since their last live performance, Slowdive returned for live shows and hopes of recording new material. Talking about the influence of the band and the shoegaze resurgence in recent years, Slowdive's Rachel Goswell says: 'The fact that the music we made still stands up today and is influencing new bands says a lot and that makes me feel very proud of what we did. There seems to be a lot of love out there for Slowdive, which is nice'.
