James Hollingsworth visits The Cider Barn in 'troubadour' mode. Tonight the brief is for Blues, Bluesy Rock, Folk-Blues, Bluesy Pop even, some originals, of course, maybe even a bit of Pink Floyd... well, we'll see what we can cook up...

South West England based James Hollingsworth has a unique, exciting acoustic guitar style reminiscent of the Andalusian tradition, a superb and passionate singing voice with a mean harmonica style to boot. Since going full-time playing music in 2006, James has become an acclaimed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing regularly several times a week the length and breadth of the country while honing his talents as an energetic and animated front man, making for a captivating performance. His often visionary songs are refreshingly inventive and accessible, drawn from his Folk-Blues roots, influenced by the likes of Roy Harper and Tim Buckley as well as Prog Rock, by turns delicately tranquil and then soaring with hypnotic groove munching guitar space freak-outs - plus glorious songwriting within. Steeped with ecological awareness, a rare hopefulness and warmly humorous undercurrents, he is a true exponent of the modern British singer/songwriter - a real gem.
