The fabulously funky Soul Immigrants are playing for you again.

When they last played, their particular style of up-tempo funk and soul was a huge hit - Boogying in the aisles!

Hailing from South London, The Soul Immigrants are fine purveyors of energetic Soul, Jazz Funk (& beyond)

A four-piece funk engine masterminded by Nitin Sawhney (before his solo career) and singer/guitarist Emrys Baird.

They’ve been plying their trade ever since releasing their critically acclaimed ‘Bank From The Brink ‘ in 2020 on leading U.K. Jazz label Lateralize and putting out 45 singles on their own label. Their last vinyl single featured The JB’s maestro Fred Wesley and was played heavily by Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles. Their current 2023 single ‘Blame It On The Endgame’ ( Burning Sole Records Basel) is also garnering critical acclaim and being played by Jazz FM and BBC6 Music. Be prepared for a wonderfully textured, well-crafted and interesting mix from some of London’s most experienced musicians. Expect hot solos & fireworks and some audience participation because it’s party time! youtu.be/cigcLYB-DTM?si=5NsCWCQaESQzIlfQ

The Soul Immigrants

The Soul Immigrants continue to make original and intelligent jazzy, deep funk grooves. They have every right to sound confident; their variety shows itself through the music, and combined with the influence of a previous generation of funk and soul results in a character that would be hard to emulate. Be prepared to dance and join the party in full swing mode when you go to one of their gigs. This is retro feel-good music - unashamedly yesterday's sounds for today! Formed in 1992 by Emrys Baird & Nitin Sawney, the band has included Trinidian Diva Z STAR, speed rapper JCOO1, LEDBIB'S bassist Liran Donin and Gilad Atzmon over the last 19 years!
