Charles Cordell : Devizes in Civil War Fiction

Charles Cordell is the author of English Civil War historical fiction series ‘Divided Kingdom’, including his debut novel ‘God’s Vindictive Wrath’. His writing has received high praise in editorial and readers’ reviews alike.

Cordell’s latest novel, ‘The Keys of Hell and Death’, is set between Wiltshire and Somerset in July 1643. It opens at the Battle of Lansdown Hill, outside Bath, and moves at pace via the Siege of Devizes and the Battle of Roundway Down to climax at the Storming of Bristol. The novels are both relatable and sharply relevant today.
