We were never satisfied sitting still and playing our instruments, so over the years we added more and more dimensions to our performances, and now we create our own theatre shows where we provide our own musical score.
We love to PLAY.
We have been together for 16 years and we travel the world performing in theatres and halls - from concert halls across Asia to village halls in rural UK, arts festivals and street festivals, in schools, hospitals and the occasional prison. We also love performing at cabarets, private events and functions, and occasionally you might even see us on TV, or doing a street show.
Though we are a string quartet we also play together as the Bowjangles band- violin, piano, double bass and drums, and of course four voices. In 2018 we won the 'Spirit of the Fringe' award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for our show Excalibow and in early 2019 we were nominated for the Rural Touring Awards ‘Best Performance’. In July 2019 we were featured on BBC CBeebies show “Yolanda’s Band Jam’ and later that summer made our Off-Broadway debut at the SoHo Playhouse in New York. 2020-21 saw us creating our latest show ‘Dracula in Space’ over Zoom, writing/composing from our own homes and even finding ways to ‘rehearse’ remotely. The fruits of these labours we took to the Edinburgh Fringe 2023 where our smash hit show was critically acclaimed and featured on ITV and Sky TV. Also in 2023 we performed for Her Majesty the Queen on her first official visit to East Anglia, and early 2024 has already seen our debut performance on stage at the Royal Festival Hall alongside Yolanda Brown.
Bowjangles
Bowjangles are musicians who can really play. They dance whilst they play. They sing whilst they play. They leap, tumble, juggle and joke whilst they play… Bowjangles have been together 12 years touring the world with their unique brand of performance. Their 2018 show 'Excalibow' won the 'Spirit of the Fringe' award at the Edinburgh Fringe.
