Kintsugi Craft Workshop for Beginners
Discover the ancient art of Kintsugi with Amelia in a fun and creative way. Kintsugi, which literally translates as 'golden joinery', celebrates the Japanese philosophy of the beauty of imperfection.
In this beginners workshop you will:
be given your own toolbox which will contain all the materials and items you need for this workshop.
learn how to safely break pottery and to repair it with gold, thereby embracing the cracks to make unique pieces of art.
make two finished Kintsugi pieces to take home which make beautiful mementoes of the day and can be used as ornaments or gifts.
Why this workshop is so special:
Kintsugi is a mindful, meditative art form that celebrates the beauty in imperfection
It is a relaxing creative experience that you can share with others
Your Kintsugi ceramics are unique personalised pieces of art that embrace the power of transformation
Amelia has a Master's degree in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the University of Lincoln.
