In this 2 ½ hour workshop, you will: learn the art of contemporary gilding, how it has changed over time and how you can use it in your own home to give it the Midas touch! be given your own toolbox which will contain all the materials and tools required for this workshop. learn how to gild a picture frame with Dutch Gold leaf and then add your own unique flair to an ornament, object or fresh flower. Why this workshop is so special: you’ll learn about the historical significance of gilding and its artistic place in our culture. gilding is a versatile art form which can transform ordinary objects into extraordinary pieces of art. It is a relaxing creative experience that you can share with others. Your picture frame and gilded decoration will make stunning mementoes of the day or beautiful gifts for loved ones. Amelia has a Master's degree in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the University of Lincoln. She is a gilt frame, objects, and decorative surfaces conservator and restorer and has worked in the Fine Art sector for over 4 years gaining extensive experience in restoring and conserving antiques.
