Royle Family and Brookside star Ricky Tomlinson is coming to Gartsherrie Bowling Club for a fantastic event: An Evening With Ricky Tomlinson hosted by Asa Murphy.
In conversation about his life and career, Eric “Ricky” Tomlinson is an English actor (and former plasterer) best known for his television roles as Bobby Grant in the soap opera Brookside (1982-1988), DCI Charlie Wise in Cracker (1993-2006) and Jim Royle In The Royle Family (1998-2012). He also played the tie character in mockumentary Mike Bassett: England Manager. He has also started in the BBC series Nice Guy Eddie and Clocking Off as well as the film Nativity with Martin Freeman and 51st state with Samuel L Jackson. After the show there will be chance to meet Ricky.
Although best known as the lovable couch-potato, Jim Royle, in 'The Royle Family, his off-screen life has been far more interesting. He has been a plasterer, banjo player, comic, union agitator, political activist, award-winning actor and an unwilling guest of Her Majesty's prison service. Respected for his honesty, wit and integrity, he makes for outstanding value in all roles.
