We are pleased to welcome Bristol-based Tamasene, the project of multi-instrumentalist Elliot Ellison Holder, to showcase the debut album “Hangin’ in or Hangin’ Out” he released earlier this year. As well as listening to the vinyl LP, you can hear some of the songs played live for us too, as part of the album launch gig tour this month. Tamasene’s music feels timeless yet distinct: part indie-folk reverie, part soul-soaked confession – do not miss this one!
Elliot cites various artists that inspire his work, including folk-rock legend John Martyn and so we will also listen to the superb classic 1973 album “Solid Air”. The vinyl LP copy we will play is a special Abbey Road half-speed remastered version.
Tamasene is the solo project of Elliot Ellison Holder, known for his work with Bristol’s psychedelic pop outfit Cousin Kula. Joined by longtime collaborator Will Wells, the pair craft a lush blend of indie pop, folk, and psychedelia, threaded with subtle jazz textures and cinematic string flourishes.
