"Brazil" (age rating 15) is a 1985 dystopian science fiction black comedy film written and directed by Terry Gilliam - originally one of the Monty Python team who did the animations for them.
The film stars Jonathan Pryce, Robert De Niro, Katherine Helmond, Ian Holm, Bob Hoskins, Michael Palin, Ian Richardson, Peter Vaughan, and Kim Greist. The film tells the story of Sam Lowry (Pryce), a low-ranking bureaucrat trying to find a woman (Greist) who appears in his dreams.
"Brazil"’s satire of technocracy, bureaucracy, hyper-surveillance, corporate statism and state capitalism draws heavily on themes contained in George Orwell’s 1949 novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four", it has been described as “Kafkaesque”, as well as absurdist. The film won best production design and best special effects at the 1986 BAFTA Awards. The screening will be the original full 'Directors Cut' ending version
