For One Night Only
The Dirt Road Band return to The Earl Haig Club, Cardiff on Thursday 15th May 2025 for a night of powerhouse blues-rock—joined by very special guests, The James Oliver Band featuring Norman Watt-Roy.

Tickets: £15 in advance (From The Earl Haig Club), £17 on the door.

About the Band
The Dirt Road Band are:

Steve Walwyn – guitar & vocals (Dr Feelgood, 32 years)

Horace Panter – bass (founding member of The Specials)

Ted Duggan – drums (Banco de Gaia, Badfinger)

This is no ordinary blues-rock outfit. These are three seasoned musicians with decades of experience and the kind of chemistry you can’t fake. The Dirt Road Band plays hard, punchy blues-rock that gets your heart racing and your feet moving.

Originally formed as a side project five years ago, DRB has taken centre stage—especially after the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Righteous in July 2024.

Their creative process is instinctive, their live performance electric. As one contemporary musician put it:
"Seasoned professionals with the energy of teenagers."

Don’t miss this night of top-tier live music. See you at the Earl Haig.

Winner of the Emerging Artist Prize at 2020's UK Blues Awards, James has already rubbed shoulders with many of the greats of the guitar firmament Albert Lee, Bill Kirchen, Greg Koch to name just a few. Now, having recorded three vital, very contemporary albums, he is preparing to write a new chapter of not only his career but also Welsh music history.

The Dirt Road Band

The Dirt Road Blues Band is the brainchild of guitar legend Steve Walwyn, mainly known as the longest serving guitar player in Dr Feelgood. During this time he amassed a massive reputation as a bona fide blues hero in the UK, Europe and beyond. He says "I'd always liked the idea of the power trio - stripping everything back to the basics: guitar, bass & drums."
