The Cambridge Summer Music Christmas concert this year features John Rutter’s much-loved Brother Heinrich’s Christmas. This delightful work tells the story of the 14th-century Dominican mystic Heinrich Suso who, according to legend, notated the carol In dulci jubilo after it had been sung to him by a band of angels. Told with warmth and humour the piece features Sigismund, Brother Heinrich’s donkey, a Christmas celebration at the monastery, and a hard-to-please abbot! John Rutter will be joined by television and radio presenter Katie Derham for this very special evening.
The concert will also include other festive music with plenty of opportunities for the audience to join in. It takes place in the beautiful setting of Our Lady & the English Martyrs Catholic Church, Cambridge. Not to be missed!
