About the show
The multi-faceted Wendy Eisenberg has spent the past decade as an increasingly key fixture in a range of niches of the experimental music sphere, if you'll excuse the geometric implausibility.
They've really risen to prominence as an awe-inspiring guitarist, blowing minds with shred-pop trio Editrix, shimmering improv troupe Squanderers (with David Grubbs and Kramer, no less), and as part of joyfully bewildering Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet. For their most recent work, an eponymous solo album, Eisenberg is occupying a more comtemplative and pastoral space, seeking a warm clarity in more timeless and understated virtuosity ways by exploring the themes and textures of country and folk.
These new explorations into more self-reflective and sincerely nostalgic headspaces are totally compelling, welcoming, and enveloping. As an artist of ridiculous range, whilst this gentleness may be to the fore in Cambridge, don't be surprised if we experience wild excursions into strange and unfathomable zones...
