Alex Merritt Trio

The Alex Merritt Trio brings together tenor saxophonist and composer Alex with leading UK pianist John Turville (Tim Garland, Yuri Goloubev) and rising star bassist James Owston (Neil Yates, Paul Dunmall).

This collaboration between these three distinctive improvisers will see the trio drawing on the modern jazz tradition that they share a love for; performing sensitive arrangements of classic jazz material by greats such as Joe Henderson, John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk amongst others. Expect nuanced modern jazz, contemporary sounds and a whole lot of fun.
