The Deadly Winters

The Deadly Winters appearing at this event

With well-constructed melodies and lovingly crafted stories, The Deadly Winters are a 6-piece part Folk-Rock, part Americana creative outfit. They bring you tales of sorrow, love, debauchery and murder.…..in a very catchy, foot-tapping way. Welcome to Folk-Rock at its finest. Creative 6-piece The Deadly Winters play some of the freshest, original and story-based music on the scene today. Completely immersive listening from the first few seconds and an onstage presence that demands attention! Armed with swagger, thumping singalong choruses and moments of welcome melancholy and sadness, The Deadly Winters have a spine tingling emotive sound that blends flavours of traditional folk, alternative rock and Americana. To listen to the 'Winters is to find yourself instantly immersed in jaunty tales of war heroes, the scurrilous doings of criminals and liars, the struggles of the hard-working and thankless classes and the anger of forgotten years. BBC Radio One, Radio Scotland (Roddy Hart, Billy Sloan, Tom Morton and Iain Anderson’s shows), Mike Harding’s Folk Show and pioneering Scottish DJ Jim Gellatly are all champions of the band having play-listed and reviewed their music. They have shared stages with lauded Scottish singer/songwriter Dougie Maclean and The Staves and have appeared at Celtic Connections, Perthshire Amber, Bannockburn Live 2014, Edinburgh’s St Andrew’s Day 2013 and numerous times at The Edinburgh Fringe.
