Night Slugs vs Club Djembe
Formed in South London and run by Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990, Night Slugs housed some of the biggest dancefloor records in between 2010 and 2020 which you will have all heard in the club at some point.
The label and collective became the driving force of post-dubstep and nu-grime sounds inflected with sharp production styles, heavy rave atmospheres and pop melodies, making those corners of dance music at the time feel fresh, futuristic and new.
At Strange Brew, the Night Slugs crew (represented by Bok Bok and Shannen SP) go head to head with Bristol’s Club Djembe for a night of nostalgic rhythms across footwork, dubstep, grime, amapiano, UK funky and much more. A rarity to see this collective in Bristol so catch ‘em while you can, doing what they do best.
Bok Bok
Bok Bok is a London based music producer, artist, and co-founder of the UK record label Night Slugs. He has played an integral part in UK dance music, producing tracks with a mutable hybrid of grime, house, electro, R&B, techno, hip-hop, and dubstep. He’s released game-changing music from Jam City, Girl Unit and Kingdom alongside production work with the likes of Kelela, and advocated for a genuinely diverse and inclusive club culture.
