Brilliant Baroque

A feast of fabulously flamboyant and celebratory Baroque music that influenced many classical-era composers including Mozart and Haydn. Bach’s famous joyful ‘wedding’ cantata is followed by a rare performance of the jubilant Dixit Dominus by Marianna Martines, a singer, keyboard player and the leading female composer of the period in Europe. Scarlatti’s St Cecilia Mass for choir and string orchestra is a virtuosic and colourful work full of Italian fervour and passion, with fast choruses and sparkling solo passages. A concert full of lively and energetic feel-good music from around Europe.

Exultate Singers

Exultate Singers, a choir of 45 accomplished singers, was founded in September 2002 by David Ogden and has given over 100 concerts and radio broadcasts and has appeared on BBC television. 'Exultate produced a purity of sound worthy of King's College, Cambridge' (The Guardian).
