The Genius of David Bowie
David Bowie songs, played by David Bowie fans, for David Bowie fans GoDBowie is a David Bowie covers band celebrating his genius and songs. Playing many of the greatest hits and key album tracks they also perform shows featuring whole albums around key anniversaries. The philosophy of the band is to cover exclusively David Bowie songs or performances. It does not consider itself a tribute act as we don’t dress up as band members, not even Bowie. Not that we disapprove of dressing up, just imitation. The ethos of the band is David Bowie songs played by David Bowie fans for David Bowie fans. We try to remain true to the spirit and arrangement of the original songs as far as possible though sometimes we take Bowie live versions as our template. The albums they have performed are Space Oddity, Lodger, hours... and Hunky Dory. In rehearsal are Station To Station for the 50th anniversary next January plus Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs the 50th anniversaries of which were missed due to Covid and illness.
