Join us for a night of music, movement – and happiness measurement – as we come together to explore the science behind the smiley. The space will be transformed into a fully immersive environment within which Fatboy Slim will bring his signature sound to a crowd ready to let go and dance like nobody’s watching.
Well, someone will be watching, in a good way. Professor Paul Dolan and his team from the London School of Economics will be using surveys and wearables to show just how happy people are at this truly unique event.
All ticket holders should therefore be aware that the event will include the use of wearable technologies, surveys and video recording. The wearables will be applied by our staff at the start of the event and removed at the end. The survey questions will be administered from time to time throughout the evening to ask people about how they are feeling at that moment. Rest assured that all data will be treated anonymously. Cameras will be capturing footage throughout the venue, and it may be used as part of a documentary exploring happiness, human connection, and collective experience.
We would be thrilled to have you as part of this experiment, and to collectively contribute to showing just how much fun Fatboy Slim gigs really are.
Fatboy Slim
English DJ and electronic music producer Norman Quentin Cook was a pioneer of the '90s big beat movement, issuing a handful of era-hits like The Rockafeller Skank and Praise You under the moniker Fatboy Slim. Formerly the bassist for the Housemartins and one-third of acid house hitmakers Pizzaman, Cook started by releasing his Fatboy material through club staple Skint, with his raucous blend of house, acid, funk, hip-hop, electro, and techno adding to his already formidable reputation as one of the foremost all-around producers on the UK club scene. More than two decades on, he's still one of the biggest DJs in the world.
