An evening of songs, stories and exceptional musicianship from a reflective duo Dan Whitehouse is an award-winning UK artist living between Tokyo and Wolverhampton; a singer-songwriter, composer, producer, spoken word performer, and community workshop leader renowned for his reflective, genre-defying artistry.
Born in the heart of the Black Country, the home of Heavy Metal, his music is rooted in pop and rock sensibilities and embraces the living poetry of spoken word. The result is music that is both deeply emotive and intellectually rich. Dan says, “I write folk songs, but not folk music.” Featured on Folk On Foot, his acclaimed albums, The Glass Age and Voices From The Cones, explored our glass screen-fixated society’s communication challenges, as well as commemorating glassmaking history and community in Stourbridge. Influenced by keeping in contact with his young son living in Japan, songs and stories from both these projects feature in his immersive live show, A Night Of Glass, a simple but hypnotic live experience in which, variously behind a piano, synth or on guitar, Dan takes audiences deep into the heart of glass, with expressively nuanced crystalline vocals, effortlessly mining a wealth of emotions and ideas.
Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren, co-producer of The Glass Age and featured artist on Voices From The Cones is flying in from Copenhagen to join Dan for this show.

In 2025, Dan releases Only Love - a sparse, solo piano collection reflecting on human connection, resilience, and fatherhood. Dan tours solo, and with New York’s Grammy-nominated Max ZT (House of Waters), blending spoken word with hammered dulcimer on Ten Steps, also with Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren, co-producer of The Glass Age. “…both extraordinary and beautiful” — KLOF MAG “Subtle and delicate melodies” — The Sunday Times…
