About the show
On Friday 9th October we welcome The Starving Rascals to JJJ for an evening of classic rock music, soul, funk and some contemporary gems.
The five piece band - Andrew Abberley (Lead Guitar Backing Vocals), Phil Maggs (Drums Backing Vocals), Martin Oakley (Lead Vocals Guitars), Pete Haynes (Lead Vocals Bass Guitars) and Julie Kimber (Saxophone) - play a wide range and variety of great music to please and satisfy the tastes of even the most discerning punter, with all songs performed to a very high standard, with great feeling, passion and a good helping of a’ la Rascals’ magic.
One of the main criteria for including any song in the set list is:- “Can you dance to it?” This alone, has helped to make the Starving Rascals a truly great “Party Band” with a diverse repertoire features songs from: The Beatles, Brian Setzer, Bryan Adams, Cockney Rebel, Chuck Berry, The Cult, The Darkness, David Bowie, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Elvis, Fleetwood Mac ... to name but a few!
