About the show

The Johnny Quinn Macs
Francis McIlduff | John McSherry | Brendán Quinn
_
Born from a chance meeting at the 2022 Féile Trad Trail, this Belfast trio captures the raw, "session-room lift" of traditional music. Recorded in just 16 hours at Redbox Studios, their debut album delivers a high-energy mix of trad and modern tunes, anchored by Brendán’s poignant songwriting. With dual pipes, soaring whistles, and a driving bodhrán pulse, they bring the grit of a live session to every stage.
_
The Lineup:

John McSherry: A world-leading uilleann piper and founding member of Lúnasa and the olllam. He has recorded with legends like Sinéad O’Connor, Rod Stewart, and The Corrs.
_
Francis McIlduff: Scion of the famed McPeake family. A veteran of At First Light, he and John are the architects of their signature "double pipes" sound.
_
Brendán Quinn: A seasoned singer-songwriter whose deep love for Irish language and lore shapes the trio's soulful storytelling.
_
From the London Jazz Café to Birmingham Tradfest and the Lorient Festival, The Johnny Quinn Macs have fast become global festival favourites. Don’t miss the chance to experience the "Belfast sound" at its finest.
