Comedy films take many forms, visual and verbal, the cruel and the sensitive, the belly-achingly funny and the wryly amusing. Comedy consequently produces many sub-genres: romantic comedies, slapstick, spoof, gross-out humour, screwball and so on. This event will look at the various ways comedy makes us laugh in a discussion focused on clips and audience participation.

The Banshees Of Inisherin (BBFC 15)
Strong language, injury detail, domestic abuse
A man is left bewildered when his best friend abruptly ends their relatonship in this comedy drama. A melancholy tone accompanies themes of aging, isolation and depression, including a man causing himself physical harm.
