Odette Michell

Odette Michell is an award-winning British singer-songwriter, guitarist and bouzouki player with a rich foothold in the folk tradition. Odette released her debut album The Wildest Rose in 2019 to positive acclaim followed by an extensive tour and a string of live interviews. The album featured notable musical contributions from Phil Beer (one-half of multi-award-winning acoustic folk band Show of Hands), and Toby Shaer (Cara Dillon, Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys), and was named by fRoots Magazine as "one of the stand-out debuts of 2019". In 2020, Odette won Female Artist Of The Year at the FATEA Awards, following in the footsteps of previous winners Kitty Macfarlane and Cara Dillon respectively, and was touted as one of R2 Magazines Top Picks for the Year in 2020. Odette was also nominated for a Rising Star Award at the 2020 Folking Awards that same year and in January 2021 was invited to perform at Celtic Connections as part of the legendary Danny Kyle Open Stage. A dynamic and prolific live performer, Odette has performed alongside the likes of Show of Hands and Seth Lakeman, and has opened for folk legends Martin Carthy, Phil Beer, Nancy Kerr, Boo Hewerdine and Reg Meuross amongst others. Odette accompanies herself on guitar, bouzouki and accordion, and tours both solo and as a duo with accompaniment from BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Finalist Charlie Wild, as well as with her two trio collaborations The Honeybees, and Michell, Pfeiffer & Kulesh. Odette's highly anticipated second studio album is due for release in 2024
