The Charmers are a (possibly fictional) band, formed by seven accused 'witches' from Ayrshire. These runaway, queer, time-travelling-players were discovered on a 17th century scroll by an artist researching the Scottish witch trials, and they are out on tour.. don't miss them!
This is a unique opportunity to catch this amazing band of musicians on tour: with Debbie Armour (Burd Ellen, described as 'Wonderful', Cerys Matthews and one of 'our finest folk explorers', The Wire) vocals and shruti, Debbie Smith (of Curve, Snowpony and Echobelly fame!) on electric guitars, with Tansy Spinks electric and acoustic fiddle, Lisa Lux percussion/drums, and Anne Robinson, vocals and visuals - performances include new films from The Charmers.
Coming Soon.. The Charmers! is an art project in diverse forms led by Anne Robinson: films, drawings, sound, broadside ballads, workshops and conversations.
Look out for new, 4 track EP 'Not to be Found' available on Bandcamp also featuring and Jo Gate-Eastley on bass and renowned improviser, Maggie Nicols.
