Duncan Honeybourne enjoys a diverse profile as a pianist and in music education. Commended for his “gripping performances” (The Times), “glittering performances” (International Piano) and “great technical facility and unfailing imagination” (Musical Opinion), Duncan is best known for his interpretations of 20th and 21st century British piano music. He has family connections with Andover, where his father and grandparents lived in the 1940s and 50s, and he gave recitals for the Andover Music Club in 2010 and 2013.
Duncan made his debut as soloist at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, and the National Concert Hall, Dublin, in 1998, and gave recital debuts in London, Paris and at international festivals in Belgium and Switzerland. He has toured extensively in the UK, Ireland and Europe as solo and lecture recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician, appearing at many major venues and leading festivals. He has been a frequent recitalist on BBC Radio 3 and more than 20 networks worldwide, including French, Swiss, Austrian and German radio. He has made 40 CDs and premiered over 70 new piano works written for him by contemporary composers. Duncan teaches at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Academy and the University of Southampton, and at home in Dorset is Founder/Artistic Director of Chamber Music Weymouth.
Duncan’s programme will include two pieces by Elgar and other British works in commemoration of St George’s Day.

Duncan Honeybourne began his studies in the Royal Academy of Music Junior Department where he won the senior piano prize. He has established a distinguished career as solo pianist, lecture recitalist, chamber musician and teacher. He has played concertos and given recitals at major venues in London, Dublin, the principal UK and Irish cities and at several British festivals, has broadcast solo works on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland and RTE (Irish) Radio, and has appeared on BBC and RTE Television.
